For me, the timeless Jo Malone Lime, Basil & Mandarin Cologne is pure sunshine, bottled …

… you can’t keep a great classic down. Still LOVE this clean, fresh, Mediterranean-breezy scent which was just made for summer (I can’t believe it was launched in 1991!).

How about you? What does summer smell like? …

While the flip -and Fit! -flops have been out in full force this sunny week (hooray!), on more unpredictable days, you can’t beat a classic pair of plimmies, revved-up in a fun colour.

Like these, at New Look (a bargain at £6.99!) …

Along with the classic Converse, Italian favourite Superga and French must-have Bensimon – which nonstopmama learned about via Joanna Goddard at her lovely A Cup Of Jo blog – there are some gorgeous bargains to be found right now, it’s tempting to splash out on every colour!

Or,  go super-neutral (with a peek of pink! – £15) at M&S …

And something a bit different: Satin Plimsolls (£39) by Boden (but maybe avoid those April showers!) …

But the last word goes to The Cath! For fans of all things floral and shabby chic, it’s over to Cath Kidston (Hampton Rose Pumps, £18) …

A great way to lightly exfoliate and make any body wash go further, not all body puffs are created equal (and many fall apart after five seconds). These are super-silky, look pretty hung up shower-side and come in a bouquet of other lovely shades, in stores or online .

So, I bought this wrap dress from The Gap …

Turns out, it didn’t look quite like this picture of effortless, easy, wrap-dressy chic on me.

My husband (who, in his defence, I asked to be TOTALLY honest) thought I was wearing a dressing gown.

Him: “Oh, is it a dress?”

Me: “Yes” (impatiently, regretting slightly the request to be TOTALLY honest). “It’s meant to look like this, it’s a wrap dress“.

Him: “Oh … it looks like some sort of robe. Sorry …”.

It went back. But I did keep this …

LOVE the super-soft jersey, which (hooray) doesn’t cling where you really wish it wouldn’t, skims over the bits you really wish it would and, with mid-length sleeves, is just right for wearing right now, while it’s still too chilly to go sleeveless.

And how lovely is this colourful one, for when things really warm up (or with a cardi/denim jacket in the meantime?)
