Two great giveaways today that should go down well with small fans of Nintendo Wii and DS games (and, let’s be honest, the grown-ups, too! When they just happen to be in the room, of course).

First up, Disney Interactive’s new Club Penguin Game Day (Wii) is the latest addition to the popular range of Club Penguin games. Suitably seasonal with its snowy setting, it features 12 sporting events in which the penguin players can compete in teams (there are single and multi-player and tournament modes). The aim is to conquer the various zones on the island. We gave the game to two reviewers, aged 4 and 10 (the recommended age range is, 6-14), the youngest of whom declared it “fun – and the best bit is going down the slide”. Sounds like that would be fun for a mama after a long day, too …

Then you can meet other fairies like Fawn, she is the animal fairy and Rosetta is the garden fairy. There are two more I like: Iridessa the light fairy and Silversmith the water fairy. You can grow some flowers and have adventures. Even my dad played it”.
