Oh you've got to try it!! From from one likeminded girl to another (often tempted by 'time-saving/life-transforming' kitchen kit, which then sits unused = sceptical other half, too), it really works (other than yest., when I completely forgot to get veggie chilli on at 8am - it takes some getting used to). And now you've made me want to go watch Three Mean And A Little Lady again! :) X

I've never done the slow cooker thing but I have friends who swear by it... not at it. We walked past Robert Dyas today and saw the Crock pots advertised in the window. To hide my house wifely inadequacies I pointed and said "Ooh look... what a crock!" (You know... after the line from Three Men And A Little Lady?). Other Half said they were pointless but Im not so sure. I reckon if he came home to dinner actually ready, as opposed to us starting to cook at 7.00 after Small child has gone to bed and I've finished writing the blog, he might just change his mind!

Hey Spanish nonstopmama! From one frizzy girl to another, I have one product - dare I even say THE product - to recc.: TIGI Bed Head Small Talk - have tweeted to find out if avail. in Spain. Hopefully so, if not, will offer other ideas. ANYWAY - this stuff, applied to towel-dried hair after washing it, combed through, works absolute wonders with taming the frizz, defining (that hairdresser word) curls and just making the biggest difference. I follow with a blob of volumising mousse, also combed through, then air-dry (or diffuse, whatever best for you, but less is more with coiffing or you'll encourage more frizz). Re: pasty skin, I'm also there with you (you can't see in small - thankfully - biog. pic, but am actually orange due to facial self-tanner to look a bit more awake). Best bet: a good tinted moisturiser - can you get Bobbi Brown over there, or Becca as above? Or a Spanish equiv., nothing heavy, even cheapie pharmacy one, just go a tad darker in shade than your skin tone. Apply, blend at jaw etc. then rub on a cream/gel blush, in push-up stick form or compact cream blush. Think rose/natural flush kind of shade. Again, can be a cheapie. Then, finishing touch, apply bronzing powder in medium (again, don't go soft/pale, defeats the object, you want to get a bit of colour but will just need to blend well). Swirl with a biggish brush over apples of cheeks, blending outwards and dust a bit on temples, even chin and don't forget to take a little onto neck and (another beauty term alert) decollete (can't find the accents on this keyboard). Hey presto - a naturally glowy (hopefully), frizz-free close-up! Let us all know how it goes!!! Jenx

Hello, beauty guru. I need some advice. I am having my photo taken for work this week. It will appear on a site seen by 500,000 people a month. I have uncontrollably curly (OK, frizz) hair and a pale, pasty complexion. What can you recommend, apart from doing a Britney or wearing a balaclava and looking like a mugger-blogger?

One of our recent purchases was a sideboard from Ikea, how original. The cupboards are handy for cables, plugs, lights etc, but my fave part is the three small drawers - I have small packets of tissues in one; suncream, little combs and hairbrushes in another; and batteries in the other! all the things I normally lose and really need at some point. Now I just need to find a completely 100% foolproof place to keep the remote controls - am about to write off to the DVD makers for a new one, as we lost ours, and can only watch all our DVDs in Spanish! Zac is rather perplexed by Babe right now, I can't change the languag on it!

You see, it's the bottoms that fox me - I mean, I'd probably tuck them into boots or something, but if you want to wear shoes then you get that odd line at the ankle...Oh, I don't know, maybe I should just stick to my floral jumpsuit. Heh.

If it's good enough for a pro Spanish mama, it's good enough for me! I'm on the case. Did you order a Crock Pot or similar? Jx

Funnily enough , a friend of mine just ordered one on Amazon (they don´t sell them here), and I am doing an Amazon order now (kitchen composter and mini-muffin tin), so maybe I will add it on. I´ve been thinking I need to cut my 3 separate meals (adults, 3 yr old, 10 month old) down to one, and a nice lentil stew or veg casserole might be just the ticket.

Amazon, along with Next, M&S and now Argos Spain, as well as Boden and Cath Kidston (sale only for me) all deliver to Europe. In case any other Euro-expat nonstopmamas are interested.

Jen - re shoes with black insoles, use a name-tape (or slip of paper) stuck in with sellotape. not quite as good as those stick on patches from Start-Rite that you can get in shoeshops but even closer to hand.

When making homemade play dough add a few drops of vanilla essence and it gives it that authentic play dough smell but not nice enough to encourage eating! This really works. I was a bit sceptical but once I tried it I'll never go back. There's something nostalgic about the scent that everyone loves.

Probably one of the most beautiful books amongst my bookshelf but I am thinking it should be re-titled 'Muffin Top' for all the good it's done for my waistline! Divine cakes! Simply a 'must-have'!
