Happy new year everyone!!! Are your cupboards now a Quality Street-free zone? We think we’ve seen them all off here at nonstopmama, right down to the always-left-until-last toffees, and are trying to think healthy now (well, since that last toffee). If you’re finding it tricky to get back into gear after the Christmas hols, check back here over the coming days and weeks for nonstop ideas, tips and inspiration to help time-crunched mamas turn over a new leaf and put a spring in their step.
First up, how to transform your morning shower into a revivifying (try saying that whilst chewing the last Christmas toffee, it’s hard enough to type it), spa-like experience. While you’re waiting for your efforts to swear off chocolate/crisps/fill in your weakness as appropriate to take effect, an invigorating, essential oil-infused body wash or scrub will help you feel heaps healthier. We love, love, love new-to-the-UK Australian beauty company Natio’s Spa with Organics Pep-Up Body Cleanser (£8, at Debenhams), Crabtree & Evelyn’s Aromatherapy Distillations Purifying Body Scrub (£23) and The Organic Pharmacy’s Seaweed Body Scrub (£34.26), both of which can be scooped out in handfuls to buff away that post-festive feeling, and Balance Me’s Super Wash with Juniper & Bergamot (£10), part of the gorgeous range featured on nonstopmama’s Discounts to love … page.
If you’re super-serious about doing a spot of ‘beauty detox’, take a tip from the health and beauty purists and try dry skin brushing first thing in the morning. We’ve found long-handled body brushes a bit fiddly first thing (or, honestly, at any time), but The Body Shop’s Round Body Brush (£7) is easier to get to grips with, while German beauty brand Riffi’s Bamboo Face And Bodycare Glove (£7.95) offers the quickest and least scratchy way to body brush we’ve come across (at John Lewis and leading chemists).
