I’m a firm believer that a fake tan is not just for summer. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that it’s even more beneficial in winter, when a dose of self-tanner is what keeps friends from asking me if I’m tired/have picked up another pre-school bug. Until now, I’ve left airbrush-style application to the pros, but this week I’ve become converted to L’ Oréal’s spray-on Ambre Soliare No Streaks Bronzer Dry Face Mist (£7.99). Instructing those in the vicinity to stand back (we have a small bathroom), I closed my eyes (as directed), took a deep breath (optional) and sprayed away for a few seconds, in ‘circular movements’ (ish). Then waited. Sure enough, a few hours later an authentic and (remarkably) even-looking golden glow had developed. And no orange palms. Sold.
