I was really excited today to try out the first samples of the new LUSH make-up range, Emotional Brilliance.
I can tell you already, the all-vegan formulas have staying power (as I tap this, I have hard-to-budge smudges of the Liquid Lips (£14.50) lip colour – in the very vibrant Passionate, a hot pink – and Liquid Eyeliner (£14.50) in Fantasy – gold – on the back of my hand.
There’s also a Cream Eyeshadow (£14.50) with a touch of shimmer, an Eyes Right Mascara (£12) – a gentle formula that’s recommended even for sensitive eyes – plus a Translucent Powder and Skin Tint (both £12 each).
Why ‘Emotional Brilliance’? The store product selection process is based on colour psychology (there’s a colour wheel in store which you can spin and the shades that jump out at you, supposedly, determine your state of mind and colour ‘needs’ at that moment. These are categorised with words such as as Confident, Glamorous and so on).
While, to be honest, that part doesn’t work for me, I’m truly thrilled that LUSH has come up with a well thought-out make-up range that will appeal to natural beauty buffs who love their on-trend colours.
