“The early bird catches the worm … but has to use a lot of concealer!!”.
Someone wrote that in an email to me this week (a crazy-early one, obviously) and I HAD to share!
And it got me thinking … it’s time for a concealer post, since – as beauty expert Alice Hart-Davis pointed out in our beauty interview with her earlier this week – it’s not like we don’t get spots post-the teen years (far from it!).
So, here’s my all-time favourite, Estée Lauder’s Disappear (£17) …

Just the right consistency to make dabbing on and blending a cinch (truly), AMAZING coverage (as in, it literally does make things that have gone bump overnight vanish) and long-lasting. I don’t bother with powder on top.
Nonstopmama beauty tip
Always apply concealer after your base. Lightly press it onto the skin with your fingertip (no rubbing) and softly blend to ‘blur’ the edges. Or use a concealer brush.
Make-up artists have told me that they use this product on photo shoots to conceal scars, birth marks and more on models’ skin.
As ever, the proof is in the testing, so give it a try next time you’re scooting past an Estée Lauder counter!
