Without making things more complicated – it’s a ponytail, after all, intended to get your hair off your face and you out the door as quickly as possible – where you position it and how tightly you pull your hair back can make all the difference.
Stylists recommend thinking soft not severe, especially as we get older. So, rather than scrape it back tightly, aim to gently gather your hair back into a low-ish ponytail, using your fingers rather than a brush. If some pieces fall forward, let them, and don’t worry about a little natural frizz or a few flyaways.
