Of course, I’ll be adding to these over the coming weeks! But right now I’m loving …
1. Clarins Self Tanning Instant Gel (£19)
Oh how I love a great self-tanner and what I love about this is that it gives the most natural-looking, medium sunkissed glow a few hours after the very first application. The gel is quick and easy to apply, doesn’t leave a smell on the skin (one of the reasons I converted a girlfriend to it, who LOVES it on her face – you can use it for both face and body).
The most foolproof deeper option to the slower-to-build-up gradual tans that I’ve come across and no hint of orange. Or Dorito, as my daughter puts it. Talk about telling it like it is.
Look out, too, for my pick of the latest self-tanners which ‘tan’ using alternatives to the traditional DHA in most formulas.
2. The Organic Pharmacy Resculpting Body Gel (£94.96)
Another body treat which I’m just loving, which is saying a lot as I’m NOT the most disciplined about applying firming and shaping creams. I tend to be good about it for the first day or three, then give up as I’m always in such a rush after a shower (usually because I’m already running late!).
But this is just lovely, it’s SO uplifting and refreshing to use and I have thigh hopes (ha ha!) about it helping to alleviate the hot weather puffiness I seem to get every summer when massaged in daily. I know I’m not the only one who experiences the feeling of ‘heavy legs’ at this time of year!
With green coffee, chilli and horsetail extract, this just feels so light and gorgeous to use and the gel formula spreads super-fast and it’s non-greasy so there’s no waiting around. Love it! If this is over your budget, check out the hugely popular Detox Cellulite Body Oil, £34.96, which gets rave reviews from beauty insiders and I’ve yet to try!
(Psst! Look out for a #nonstopgorgeous summer beauty insider interview with the inspirational Margo Marrone, founder of The Organic Pharmacy, coming to nonstopmama soon!).
3. Sarah Chapman Bodylift (£28)
This one totally links in with the body gel, above. And it’s one of my ‘surprise’ favourites of the summer.
Designed to mimic the effect of an expert lymphatic drainage massage, it’s incredibly clever design makes it super-easy to roll over the body, boosting circulation as it goes. I’ve been using it with The Organic Pharmacy gel (above), to help beat the summer fluid retention and ‘puffies’ (I focus on the legs, but it’s supposed to be good for the upper arms, too).
I’ve just various massaging/firming/brushing gadgets over the years and I can truly say I think this one tops them all (and I’m rubbish about trying to follow complicated, multi-step massage techniques myself). This sort of does it for you. It really does feel like it’s making a difference.
4. Caudelie Divine Legs Tinted Body Lotion (£26)
I LOVE this new wash-off, tinted bronzing veil for the body. It smells lovely, gives a lovely but subtle golden glow – just enough to take the edge off pasty pins.
And as it’s not an aerosol but a pump, you don’t risk ‘tanning’ the entire bathroom along with your legs. Highly recommended! (I’ve even used it on my arms at a pinch. Not sure if you’re meant to, but it worked fine!).
5. Bobbi Brown CC Cream SPF 35 (£29)
Love, love, love this as a summer make-up base. Great, natural-looking glow (I use Golden Nude, far right) and with a great SPF (although I’m going to wear it over a high SPF facial sun cream too in high summer, for full protection). So easy to apply and blend, not at all greasy feeling and totally perfect for when temperatures rise.
6. Green & Spring Exfoliating Body Wash (£22)
This is a lovely, naturally-based wash which not only smells deliciously minty – great for wake-me-up showers! – it gives just enough of a scrub effect to leave skin feeling silky-smooth (great pre-self-tanner) and soft. I love this.
More coming soon! Including, TOMORROW!, a #nonstopgorgeous interview and giveaway with another of my absolute favourites, Balance Me - and some beauty secrets from co-founder, the lovely Rebecca Hopkins. Don’t miss it!
