I’ve noticed a lot of mamas sporting shimmery blue eyeliner/shadow lately – either as a bold sweep along the lid, or smudged along the lashline – and thought how pretty it looks.
Here’s a fresh way to wear the colour, as seen at New York Fashion Week on the Jenny Packham catwalk.
The make-up was done by Talia Shobrook for Laura Mercier, using three different blue colours to get the look.
First of all, Talia used Laura Mercier Eye Pencil (£15.50) in Midnight Bleu. She applied it by pulling the eyelid up at the brow and running it straight across the lid, starting just below the crease of the lid and extending slightly beyond the outside corner of the eye.
Next, she layered the Baked Eye Color (£18) in Lagoon, below, over the liner, to set it.

Then, with a dome-shaped brush, she applied the Metallic Crème Eye Color (£18.50) in Platinum, from above the crease of the eye and up to the brow bone.
Next, Talia used the new Laura Mercier Artist Luxe Liquid Liner (£20, available from October) to the lash line.
A coat of the Faux Lash Mascara (£18.50) and a set of false lashes completed the look!
That’s quite a few steps (and I think I’d skip the falsies!), but the technique could definitely be modified for a time-crunched mama!
