I am coveting my friend Cheryl’s slow cooker. She is a true a domestic princess to whose levels of organisation and general together-ness I constantly aspire – in vain, I fear (she cooks brownies, writes legibly on her kitchen noticeboard and can laminate things. Sigh). Tonight, Cheryl’s kitchen was filled with the smell of something yummy in her counter-top slow cooker, which she says makes a doddle of making stews and stuff ready by the end of play. Sounds good to me and I’ve always been strangely drawn to the Crock Pot ads in US glossies. My husband’s verdict: another gadget I won’t use that we don’t have space for (see my Nicer Dicer/various “effortless” floor mopping gizmos and other wonders that were going to transform me into a cute-aproned dynamo). I’ll find a space, I say. Readers, I’m on a nonstopmama mission to check out the slow cooker thing. In the meantime, do post any recommendations/thoughts. And, Cheryl, hope dinner was yum.

Funnily enough , a friend of mine just ordered one on Amazon (they don´t sell them here), and I am doing an Amazon order now (kitchen composter and mini-muffin tin), so maybe I will add it on. I´ve been thinking I need to cut my 3 separate meals (adults, 3 yr old, 10 month old) down to one, and a nice lentil stew or veg casserole might be just the ticket.
Amazon, along with Next, M&S and now Argos Spain, as well as Boden and Cath Kidston (sale only for me) all deliver to Europe. In case any other Euro-expat nonstopmamas are interested.
If it’s good enough for a pro Spanish mama, it’s good enough for me! I’m on the case. Did you order a Crock Pot or similar? Jx
