Setting the scene for imaginative play: the NEW Build ‘n Style Mega Bloks Barbie range

We’ve got to say, there was much ooh-ing and aah-ing when a selection of the new Build ‘n Style Mega Bloks Barbie sets arrived at nonstopmama.

But, in the interests of age-appropriate reviewing (boo!), we gave them to a nonstopmama of two seriously excited girls to enjoy.

They LOVED them!!

Our reviewers – aged six and nearly four – got to try the Build ‘n Style Fashion Boutique (£24.99), Build ‘n Style Convertible (£16.99) and Barbie and Friends Mini Fashion Figures (£5.99 each, and there are 19 to collect) …

The recommended age range is four and over, but that didn’t stop the youngest sister diving right in. She was particularly taken with the hot pink Convertible, which she made with her Daddy, and comes with a seriously glam carport which you build, too. Her Mummy isn’t sure who had the most fun.

‘They loved building the car, and putting the stickers on, too,’ she says. ‘It was something a bit different from the usual doll’s play and it was really fun for them to do together’.

‘Both the girls really used their imaginations, which was great to see, too,’ she adds. ‘As well as building the sets and making the scenes, they then went on to play out different scenarios with them, using all the accessories.

My oldest daughter’s favourite was definitely the Fashion Boutique. She loved making her own displays with the handbags and other accessories, and swapping the different outfits on the dolls. You get lots of bits and pieces, too, which makes the sets really good value for money, I think.

I liked the way these toys encouraged a lot of imaginative play – they came up with all sorts of different scenarios, which was nice to see, it wasn’t just about shopping!

Because you can build on the sets, and everything is interchangeable, I’d definitely buy these for the girls and also as birthday presents, too. It’s a collectable range.’

So, this one definitely gets the nonstopmama seal of approval!
