Yee-haw! The cowboy boot is back for autumn/winter …

My Texan mama girlfriend Lisa (who hails from Dallas, no less) would approve of this one!

Western style boots are BIG fashion news for autumn/winter, and – here’s the best bit, practical-thinking mamas! – they’re a great ‘between season’ footwear option. You can team them right now with floaty dresses on balmy, late summer days and wear with leggings and tights when the (very un-Texan) brrrrr factor truly sets in.

These cute little ankle boots (£75) caught my eye at Office this week, but you can find cheaper alternatives and a fun, ruched cowboy style in black microfibre (£60), too.

(Btw: in case you’re thinking they look a little worn in the picture, that’s deliberate. The scuffed texture actually brushes away with a suede brush – it’s just part of the well-worn, Western effect. I know this because I asked the question, too!).

Ride ‘em, cowgirls!!
